Tea Culture Beverly Dubrin 9781936140053 Books
I learned so much about tea from this book and gained new insights into cultures where tea has a significant role. I had never before been aware of the wide array of teas available to us and of their importance in our social lives. My late parents used to sip hot tea in a glass through a sugar cube held in their mouths, a tradition which I now understand comes from their Russian heritage.I especially liked the section of recipes for tea drinks and for foods to enjoy with them. The several recipes that I tried were delicious and easy to prepare. Marion's dream bars were just heavenly. Only one recipe required an ingredient not found in a regular grocery store - matcha powder. Fortunately, I live in a town with well stocked specialty stores and could readily obtain it
The book is a handy reference source, and Dubrin's light writing style and personal observations make it a pleasure to read. I note too that the book itself is stunning, with page after page of beautiful photographs, many in full color. I wouldn't hesitate to display a copy on a table or give one as a gift.

Tea Culture Beverly Dubrin 9781936140053 Books Reviews
I love a good cup of tea, or as some English would say, a cuppa. I like to drink it when I’m ill. I like to drink it when I relax. Aside from an alcoholic beverage, nothing says relaxation like a good cup of tea. There’s something comforting about a good cup of tea.
Want to learn all about this fascinating beverage that keeps tea drinkers coming back for more? I did and that is why I read this book. It is also why I am writing this review to share with you now. As the description so aptly puts it, “pour a cup, open the covers…” and read because this book is “your cup of tea”.
Overall, an enjoyable book that I will read more than once.
Everything you wanted to know about tea and tisanes, from the history of tea drinking and its sources to the many ways of making and drinking it.
This is a really informative and enjoyable book with beautiful pictures, both historical and recent, and many recipes for making teas and tisanes.
Included with each of the various tisanes is a brief description of the beneficial health qualities (or remedial effects) assigned to them and recipes for making your own.
There are also some lovely recipes for various cakes, scones and sandwiches to enjoy with tea. Wonderful if you want to hold your own High Tea party!
This is a very easy and enjoyable book to read, even if you are not a big fan of tea drinking, however for me, it is a favourite topic and pastime and I thoroughly enjoyed reading and trying out some of the recipes within...as I will continue to do.
This book would make a lovely gift for tea lovers to peruse over a nice "cuppa" of their choice.

A truly beautiful book and so very readable -- what a pleasant surprise to find a gorgeous book that's lovely to look at and fun to read. Can;'t wait to make some of those yummy recipes, especially the "dream bars!"
Tea Culture History, Traditions, Celebrations, Recipes & More
Tea culture is a beautiful book with just the right amount of information on the history of tea, its use over the centuries, and recipes for wonderful tidbits to serve at your tea party. The book is packed with gorgeous illustrations and photos to whet your appetite. Buy it and leave it on your coffee (tea?) table so that you can browse through it a few pages at a time. You will be well rewarded!
A delightful book and a great resource for planning a `tea for two' or a grand tea party. The Flowering Teas are our favorites, paired with the Lemon Chive Chicken Salad Sandwiches, the Chutney with Goat Cheese, and an array of sweets such as the Green Tea Madeleines, Marion's Dream Bars and Fran's brownies. The background information is well researched, and we learned fascinating information on the history of tea, and were introduced to the beautiful `Tea Bag Art' of South Africa.
After purchasing two books for tea-drinking friends, I decided to keep one for myself after glancing through the book. In summary the book is a wonderful gift, regardless of the recipients drinking preferences. The photography is gorgeous, and picture of the Meriage Freres tea counter brought back fond memories. The text is very informative and interesting, yet not overwhelming, and the explanations are crystal clear. The drinks and associated foods I tried from the included recipes, were outstanding. My favorites included Mango Tea Smoothie (hot weather, especially) and Green Tea Ni Cocktail (with vodka) for anytime! The smoked salmon finger sandwiches and Marion's Dream Bars were unique, easy to prepare, and delicious. Finally, there is even a small section on Children's Tea parties.
